Equals Money’s mission is to make money movement simple. We develop and sell scalable payment platforms to enable organisations and individuals to move and easily manage their money flows through payment and card products.

What we're looking for

Leading a small but growing DevOps team, you’ll act as the infrastructure focal point supporting the rest of the engineering teams. You’re the sort of person who enjoys taking an active role in planning, quickly implementing new features, and you have the ability to thrive under pressure and find creative solutions to complex technical problems. You are communicative and social, able to discuss your work with people of varying levels of technical understanding and get excited by the buzz of delivering products that customers love using.


Job requirements

Responsibilities

  • Take control of our existing AWS real estate

  • Ensure we’re following AWS best practice throughout

  • Deliver infrastructure from start to finish & work with engineers to ensure the first deployment success

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan and prioritise workstreams

  • Help setup monitoring and alerting for all our infrastructure.

  • Promote best practices within the team, focusing on quality, collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement

  • Drive the architecture and design of solutions, ensuring scalability, security, performance and resilience


Desired skills

You may not have all of these, but that’s ok.

  • Significant experience with Terraform

  • Experience with core AWS services (VPC, EC2, RDS, CloudFront, ECS/Fargate, Lambda etc)

  • Experience with multiple account setups (AWS Organisations, SSO)

  • Deep knowledge of application, server and network security

  • Containerisation platforms (Docker)

  • CI tools, e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI, CodeBuild

  • Software engineering practices like BDD, TDD, Pair Programming etc.

  • Learning from and passing knowledge to like-minded and talented colleagues.

Extra awesome:

  • Knowledge of Node.js microservices.

  • GIT workflow.

  • Agile practices.

  • Experience working in fintech.

  • Experience leading teams (either as a team lead, or informally).
