Within our offices in London, Chester and Los Angeles and Europe, Equals comprises of three business lines and brands - Equals Money, FairFX and CardOneMoney. You will join a very close-knit, talented and supportive team from various backgrounds who believe that bringing different perspectives together helps us understand our customers' needs. United, by one thing, making money management straightforward and cost-effective for our customers.


About the role
Software Engineers at the Equals Group work in either front-end or back-end teams that collaborate on shared workstreams. Our teams are long-lived and operate under specific team leads, ensuring stability and continuous improvement. During your placement, you will have the opportunity to work in both front-end and back-end teams, gaining comprehensive exposure to our entire technology stack and contributing to projects that directly impact our customers.

We’re looking for an ambitious person who wants to help bring innovative and effective software solutions to life and take end-to-end ownership of them. Help push the Equals Group’s technology far beyond its current state, delivering strong, creative, innovative, and impactful software solutions. Providing business impact and driving continuous improvement whilst stretching themselves and learning new skills.

About you

Job requirements

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain web and mobile applications.
  • Ensure code quality by writing code that is well tested and written in a maintainable way.
  • Deploying code to production and shaping our user experience on a daily basis.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to prioritise workstreams.
  • Monitoring the health of the services we build.
  • Implement features and own the delivery to the point of it being in our customers’ hands.


Accountabilities

  • Ensure the applications are functional, reliable, and performant.
  • Maintain high code quality standards and perform code reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
