Having recently acquired a subsidiary in Belgium - Oonex SA - the Group are focussed on bringing our suite of products to Europe and are now looking for an Onboarding and KYC Specialist to join our team.

With our headquarters in London and Brussels and teams in Chester, Amsterdam and Los Angeles, the Equals Group operates a portfolio of successful and exciting business lines and brands - Equals Money, FairFX and CardOneMoney in the UK and now Oonex in Belgium - soon to become Equals Money Europe. About the Role

The Onboarding and KYC specialist will play a critical role in ensuring performing KYC checks and risk assessments on new clients and partners. You will work closely with the Compliance and Risk departments to ensure that the new customers are on boarded within the firms’ risk appetite framework and that we remain compliant with all AML and applicable Regulations. The role requires a proactive individual with the necessary understanding of risk & KYC to help protect the firm from financial crime, whilst also providing the efficiency and speed to onboard approved customers as quickly as possible. 

Regrettably we cannot offer this role to individuals who do not possess the legal right to reside and work in The Netherlands or Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Perform KYC review and onboarding assessments on new and existing merchants

• Collaborate with operational and project teams on our process improvements

• Collect, review and analyse relevant information and documents provided by our clients and partners

• Perform initial and periodic due diligence and risk assessment activities relating to customer identification and verification

• Calculation of the financial risk exposure and the relevant risk mitigation measures

• Create and maintain accurate and up to date KYC records

• Investigate high-risk KYC profiles in the onboarding and monitoring phase

• Improve service delivery time/quality and enhance client satisfaction

Essential Skills

• Great attention to detail and willingness to find the information needed to be successful

• Strong interest in AML, KYC, CDD, compliance, financial or credit risk

• Fluent in English and Dutch (Dutch optional but highly desired)

• You pick up new information easily, take initiative and have a great sense of responsibility

• Operationally oriented with a critical and analytical mindset

• Previous experience in Acquiring or Fintech is a huge plus

Where possible we offer the opportunity to work flexibly and the opportunity to balance some remote working with time in the office collaborating, taking part in events and developing the social connections that make working with us rewarding. For this role a minimum of 3 days in the office will be required with remote wording offered for the remaining working days.
