Job description

About Us
Over the last 18 years, we’ve helped over a million satisfied customers move and manage their money. Our award-winning product portfolio empowers our customers to make cost-effective, multi-currency payments through a wide range of products - from travel money and international transfers to currency hedging and expense management.

In May 2025, Equals Money and Railsr officially combined, bringing together two fintech pioneers to form a stronger, more dynamic financial services platform. The merger allows us to deliver cutting-edge embedded finance, payments, and card issuing infrastructure to a broader set of customers globally.

Together, we’re building the next generation of financial services - powered by advanced payments technology, regulated infrastructure, and personal expert service.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager to help lead data product strategy, with a focus on unlocking business value through smarter data infrastructure, automation, and machine learning. You’ll drive the roadmap for our internal data platform and lead initiatives that embed intelligence into our customer and operational products.

This role requires strong technical understanding of modern data systems, a product mindset that balances business needs with engineering complexity, and the ability to influence across the organisation - including at senior and executive levels.

You’ll work cross-functionally with data engineering, platform teams, operations, compliance, and product peers to deliver scalable data services and shape how we leverage data across the business.

Job requirements

Responsibilities

Short-term:

  • Establish a strong relationship with the key stakeholders within the data team.

  • Establish product management practices and rituals within a team, who have not worked with product before.

  • Map out the key challenges and opportunities within data, working closely with the Head of Product, VP Technology and the Data team leaders.

  • Support data governance initiatives by championing standards around data quality, documentation, access, and compliance.

Medium-term:

  • Act as the central link between engineering, operations, product, and commercial teams - ensuring data products align with business priorities and real-world usage.

  • Shape and communicate the data initiatives to senior stakeholders, helping them understand trade-offs, timelines, and business impact.

  • Define and monitor success metrics for key initiatives - driving a data-informed culture throughout the organisation.

Accountabilities

  • Own the vision and roadmap for our core data platform - defining services and tools that power real-time decisioning, insights, and automation. With an initial focus on improving our internal data products, but with a long-term view to monetising our data for third parties and customers.

  • Work with data science teams to scope and deliver machine learning use cases to support strategic initiatives,  such as fraud prevention, payment routing optimisation, predictive alerts, and intelligent reconciliation.

  • Championed ownership within engineering for outputting high quality data to support analysis and key business decisions.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of product management experience, including 1+ years working in a data-focused product team.

  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, modern data stack components and data modelling best practices.

  • Comfortable working closely with data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to scope and deliver technically complex solutions.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership with the ability to align priorities across engineering, compliance, and commercial teams.

  • The right candidate is able to thrive in ambiguity, move quickly and knows how to bring clarity and momentum to complex, cross-functional challenges.

  • Confident communicator with experience presenting product strategy or initiative updates to senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences.

  • Passion for building products that unlock intelligence, automation, and smarter workflows.

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to data governance frameworks or responsible data policies.

  • Experience with embedded finance, payments, or regulated financial products.

  • Familiarity with internal enablement tooling (e.g., reporting, workflow automation, anomaly detection).

  • Working knowledge of Postman, Notion, Looker, Quicksight and similar tooling.
