Our award-winning product portfolio allows our customers to make low-cost multi-currency payments across various payment products. From travel money to transfers, currency hedging, to expense management, we are focused on a single goal of making it easy for our customers to manage and move their money.

As a business, we are committed to delivering value to our customers through the combination of advanced payments technology and personal expert service. We’re doing this by hiring exceptional people and are now looking for a QA Analyst to join our team.

Within our offices in London, Chester and Los Angeles and Europe, Equals comprises of three business lines and brands - Equals Money, FairFX and CardOneMoney. You will join a very close-knit, talented and supportive team from various backgrounds who believe that bringing different perspectives together helps us understand our customers' needs. United, by one thing, making money management straightforward and cost-effective for our customers.

About the role

We’re seeking a Quality Engineer who brings energy, curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership to the QA function. This isn’t a narrowly defined tester role—we’re looking for an all-round QA who’s as comfortable writing automation as they are running exploratory sessions, is product led, and who wants to shape the future of quality at Equals.

About you

We believe that certain skills are essential in order to be successful in this role and these are detailed below. You may not have all the other skills we have outlined as desirable, we understand that and will still welcome your application. We will carry out individual interviews for shortlisted candidates and assess who is best suited for the role after we have discussed everything with you.

Responsibilities

  • Champion quality within a cross-functional squad—using context-driven, exploratory testing to inform where and how you test, and ensuring the most valuable risks are addressed.

  • Use and help assess emerging low-code and AI-powered test tools to speed up repetitive tasks, enhance coverage, and support smarter debugging.

  • Take the lead on building and maintaining automated regression suites using Cypress, driving coverage for critical user journeys and enabling faster feedback loops.

  • Balance automation with intelligent exploratory testing: knowing when it’s better to think critically than code rigidly.

  • Design flexible test charters, coverage outlines, and lightweight documentation that support deep exploration without slowing delivery.

  • Collaborate with developers on testability, quality signals, and risk assessment—influencing story shaping and delivery planning.

  • Contribute to pipeline integration of test suites and improve CI test reliability and performance.

  • Work with other QAs and engineers to evolve our quality strategy—whether that’s how we tackle flaky tests, scale automation, or refine our exploratory approaches.

  • Offer support and informal mentorship to junior testers, especially around automation best practices, critical thinking, and risk-based approaches.

Essential Skills

  • Thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments.

  • Are confident communicating across disciplines and championing quality early.

  • Have 2+ years’ experience in QA, ideally in agile, product-led tech teams.

  • Have hands-on experience with Cypress or similar modern test automation frameworks.

  • Understand web/mobile architecture and common test techniques.

  • Are excited by the possibilities of AI tools and low-code platforms to augment testing.

  • Enjoy exploratory testing, risk analysis, and seeing the bigger picture.

  • A role model for our values:

  • Make it happen

  • Succeed together

  • Be the customer

  • Go beyond
